Understanding Urinary Incontinance and it’s causes.

Postpartum Recovery

Postpartum incontinence is common among women who have recently given birth. The pelvic floor muscles, which support the bladder, may become weakened or damaged during childbirth, leading to urinary leakage.

Symptoms: Women may experience leakage when coughing, sneezing, or jumping.

Post-Menopause Weakness

Post-menopause, the decline in estrogen levels can lead to a weakening of the pelvic floor muscles, causing urinary incontinence. This hormonal change affects the bladder and urethra, making it harder to control urine flow.

Symptoms: The sudden, intense urge to urinate frequently, often with little warning, can lead to accidental leakage

Weak Pelvic Floor Muscles

Weak pelvic floor muscles, which can be caused by factors such as aging, obesity, or chronic straining, lead to urinary incontinence. These muscles are crucial for maintaining bladder control, and their weakening can result in leakage.

Symptoms: Leakage during physical activities or the constant need to use the bathroom can occur.

  • Generally a Tesla chair therapy takes around 30 minutes

  • We recommend that you wear loose comfortable clothing to your appointment, as you can sit on the Tesla chair fully clothed.

We ask you to avoid wearing tight restrictive clothing, and to have no metal or clips on your clothing.

  • During a Tesla Chair treatment, you will feel a series of painless muscle contractions in your pelvic floor area. These contractions are similar to doing intense Kegel exercises but without any effort on your part. The sensation can be described as a gentle, rhythmic pulsing. Most patients find the treatment comfortable and even relaxing.

  • The timeline can vary depending on individual conditions. While most patients notice improvement after just a few sessions, we recommend at least 6 sessions for optimal results.
